WHY US?

Inquire is a venture by members of ThinQ, a collective of educators committed to Inquiry and Integration in Education. The materials we use have been developed by educators with decades of experience across school, university and adult education. We come from institutions like Stanford, NUS, UArizona, and IISER, and have research experience in various fields including mathematics, linguistics, biology, economics, and education.

Part of Inquire's revenue goes towards supporting ThinQ's activities and its members so that we can work towards our goal of improving education at all levels.

WHY LEARN TO INQUIRE, THINK CRITICALLY AND INTEGRATE?

The lifespan of careers is getting shorter due to new technologies. New technologies, like Machine Learning, are making certain types of jobs obsolete at a very rapid rate. If students do not have the ability to constantly adapt, learn, and be creative, they are unlikely to achieve long-term, sustainable success in the future. This is where Inquire comes in. We help students become critical, self-learners who can distinguish between good and bad arguments, and are capable of creating knowledge across and between disciplines. Inquire's programs help you to:

Avoid Falling for Fake News

We assist in sharpening your critical thinking skills, enabling you to assess information from various fields. This does not imply mastery in all disciplines, but rather enhances your skepticism, allowing you to detect potential misinformation.

Become a Knowledge Creator

Traditional education primarily focuses on teaching you how to consume existing information. With Inquire's programs, you will gain the necessary skills to generate knowledge in various fields.

Become Truly Innovative

Innovation necessitates the ability to establish links between seemingly dissimilar subjects. Our transdisciplinary methodologies aid in cultivating the skill and attitude of transitioning across fields and identifying connections on both an epistemological and conceptual level.

  • Learning Outcomes: sensitization to concepts and tools of inquiry, finding patterns, classifying, defining concepts with clarity, and theory building
  • Inquiry Tools 1

  • 18 hours of live instruction over 6-9 days, and 12 hours of assignments and reflection.
  • Learning Outcomes: observing & measuring, classifying, reasoning, and generalizing

  • Inquiry Tools 2

  • 18 hours of live instruction over 6-9 days, and 12 hours of assignments and reflection.
  • Learning Outcomes: defining, proving, explaining, and theory building

  • Inquiry and Critical Thinking

  • 24 hours of live instruction over 8-12 days, and 30 hours of assignments and reflection.
  • Learning Outcomes: critical reading, mathematical theory building, scientific theory building, and ethical theory building

SPECIALIZED INQUIRY WORKSHOPS

  • Mathematical Inquiry

  • The goal of this workshop focused on mathematical theory building is to take a deep dive into the area. Learners will work on building at least two theories during the course of the workshop. It is possible to run this workshop without going through the introductory ones. However, we recommend that everybody go through the more elementary workshops before attending this one.
  • 16 hours of live instruction over 6-8 days, and 36 hours of assignments and reflection.
  • Learning Outcomes: sensitization to concepts and tools of inquiry, finding patterns, classifying, defining concepts with clarity, and theory building
  • Scientific Inquiry

  • The purpose of this workshop, which centers on constructing scientific theories, is to thoroughly explore the topic. Participants will examine the heliocentric theory and develop their own scientific theory. While it is possible to participate in this workshop without completing any prior workshops, it is recommended that all attendees complete the introductory workshops before attending.
  • 16 hours of live instruction over 6-8 days, and 36 hours of assignments and reflection.
  • Learning Outcomes: observing & measuring, classifying, reasoning, and generalizing

  • Probabilistic & Statistical Thinking

  • 18 hours of live instruction over 6-9 days, and 24 hours of assignments and reflection.
  • Learning Outcomes: defining, proving, explaining, and theory building

  • Critical Reading

  • 12 hours of live instruction over 4-6 days, and 24 hours of assignments and reflection.
  • Learning Outcomes: critical reading, mathematical theory building, scientific theory building, and ethical theory building
